The New Zealand Trainers' Association Inc
Welcome to the home page of the NZ Trainers' Association representing New Zealand's thoroughbred racing trainers. The NZTA is an incorporated society which represents the interests of those holding public trainers' licences and permit to train licences. The former are those trainers who obtain their sole livelihood from training horses, while the latter are restricted to just six horses in training at any one time and are allowed to work in other areas. Owner-trainers are not members of the NZTA. The NZTA is made up of six branches throughout the country - Northern, Central Districts, Taranaki, Canterbury-Westland, Otago and Southland. The Executive comprises the six Branch presidents, the National President, the past-President, the NZTR Board representative and past-NZTR Board representative. At Branch level the presidents deal largely with regional matters relating to tracks and their local clubs. National issues are handled by the Executive Officer. As a recognised industry organisation the NZTA is invited to make submissions to those issues which directly or indirectly affect its members.
